Fungsi Capacitor secara Umum
Umumnya beban pada jaringan listrik adalah beban induktif. Beberapa beban induktif yang ada disebuah jaringan listrik, seperti heater, Neon, Motor listrik,dan lain lain Sehingga beban listrik kebanyakan adalah beban inductive. Untuk menghilangkan/ mengurangi komponen daya inductive ini diperlukan kompensator yaitu capacitor/ capacitor bank. PLN membebankan biaya kelebihan pemakaian KVARH pada pelanggan, jika rata-rata factor dayanya (Cos phi) kurang dari 0.85. Untuk memperbaiki factor daya sehingga tidak membayar denda, harus menggunakan Aplikasi Panel Capacitor Bank.
Fungsi Capasitor
- Menghilangkan denda / Kelebihan Biaya (kVARh)
- Menghindari kelebihan beban transformer / trafo (over Load)
- Sehingga memberikan tambahan daya yang tersedia
- Menghindari kenaikan Arus / Suhu pada kabel
- Memaksimalkan Pemakaian Daya (kVA)
- Menghemat daya
- Menghindari Voltage drop pada Line end
- Mengawetkan Instalasi & peralatan electric
- Menghindari rugi-rugi lainnya…

Fungsi dari low Voltage main distribution panel (LVMDP) adalah sebagai panel penerima daya/power dari transformer (trafo) dan mendistribusikan power tersebut lebih lanjut ke panel Low voltage sub distribution (LVSDP), Menggunakan Air Circuit Breaker atau moulded case Circuit Breakers, panel sub distribusi akan mendistribusikan power tersebut ke peralatan electrical.
